La société Mexx vient d’officialiser par un communiqué sibyllin le prochain départ de son CEO, Thomas Grote, en poste depuis octobre 2009. L’homme qui a fait venir à ses côtés plusieurs de ses anciens collaborateurs d’Esprit, sera remplacé par interim en interne.
Mexx toujours sur la tangente ? Alors qu’à l’annonce de l’arrivée de son nouvel actionnaire, The Gores Group en octobre dernier, Thomas Grote, Sacs Louis Vuitton avait eu vraisemblablement l’assurance de poursuivre le plan de redressement qu’il avait déployé pour la société de prêt-à-porter. Alors qu’un nouveau plan de développement semblait se mettre en place avec l’arrivée, au premier abord prometteuse, d’une nouvelle ligne, Mexx vient d’officialiser le prochain départ de son CEO, Thomas Grote. L’homme arrivé à la tête du groupe alors sous la houlette de l’américain Liz Claiborne Inc en octobre 2009, avait déjà comme principale feuille de route le redressement de la société basée aux Pays-Bas. Il faut dire que l’homme a passé une très grande partie de sa carrière au sein de la marque enseigne aujourd’hui cotée à Hong-Kong. Il y a fait ses premières armes dès 1990 au poste de chargé de comptes de la division accessoires puis a été nommé responsable des ventes. En 1992, il quitte le groupe pour rejoindre In-Wear mais y revient en 1996 pour y occuper diverses fonctions dont la dernière en date, celle de président de la marque Esprit. Le groupe Mexx a annoncé que les recherches pour lui trouver un successeur avaient d’ores et déjà commencé. Dans cette attente c’est le président exécutif Lewis L. (Lee) Bird III ainsi que le vice-président, Raymond C. A. Leclercq qui reprendront ses fonctions.
